CAR HIRE UK

Car rental UK

Cheap car rental prices  from London to Birmingham. Though the UK is quite small when compared to other countries around Europe and the rest of the world, it’s still a kingdom made up of four wonderfully unique countries. From the metallic cityscapes of London and the rolling hills of the Yorkshire countryside in England, the emerald Isles of Ireland and the medieval castles of Wales and the inspiring Lochs of scotland - there is just so much to see. The history of the kingdom is intact in every country, with architecture spanning every era to be found. It’s the perfect place for a road trip, you can take in the south coast and the White chalky cliffs of Dover, the Lakes of England’s Lake District and then spend a couple of days driving to the Scottish border where you can begin your adventures in the highlands exploring beautiful castles and vast hilly landscapes. If you’re visiting the UK for a holiday then we would recommend hiring your hire car from Car Rentals Network in advance. You can pick up your car from whichever airport you’re scheduled to land at or if you prefer, you can pick it up from a number of other other locations from train stations to city centre pick up points. Whether you want a cheap car hire to visit family and friends or a luxury car rental for your busy business needs or special occasion - we can help you.

UK - The Facts

• The UK has a population of 63 million people, most of which are in England.

• The highest peak of the United Kingdom is Ben Nevis in Scotland. It stands at 1,343m. Interestingly, the deepest lake, Loch Morar is also in Scotland, in the Highlands. It’s 1017 feet deep.

• The UK is 30 times smaller than Australia, a little bit smaller that the US state of Oregon and approximately half the size of France.

• Contrary to popular belief the world renowned Big Ben is not the name of the actual clock, it’s actually the name of the inhabitant of St.Stephen’s Tower - the thirteen ton bell that chimes the Westminster Chimes each day. The clock itself is called The Great Westminster Clock

• Though Bram Stoker’s Dracula was a work of fiction, many of the places mentioned within the story are real - one such place, and the star of the show, is Whitby Abbey in the whimsical Yorkshire fishing village of Whitby.

UK - A Short Guide

The United Kingdom is a sovereign state in North West Europe, and it is split into four countries over two main islands and many smaller islands scattered mainly around Scotland and England - these countries are of course England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. There are more than 300 airports in the UK - and we can arrange your car hire for just about any of them, from the biggest like Heathrow to some of the smaller more obscure airports like the Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster. London is the capital of England and serves as something of a transport hub for the rest of the UK - with rail and air links to most of the UK and of course - a fantastic network of roads linking all 4 countries. If you’re up for the challenge, you can even travel by road from London to Ireland. You just need to take a short car ferry crossing. Do bare in mind that some hire car suppliers won’t allow you to take a car on a ferry - but you can easily find one that will at Car Rentals Network.

The UK, though well known for its major cities like London and Manchester in the UK, Edinburgh in Scotland, Cardiff in Wales and Belfast in Northern Ireland, is also home to a wealth of beautiful countryside, incredible beaches, quaint villages and historic cities and towns with buildings dating back as far the 100 AD. From London, it’s easy to visit the likes of Dover and the South Coast of England by car. In Dover you can be wowed by the astonishing and unique White Cliffs of Dover - made of billions of crushed shells and tiny sea creatures and topped by rich shrubbery and trees. Perched atop of this there is the famed Dover castle - that still has surviving pieces of a 1st century Roman Lighthouse.

If you’d like to see some evidence of England really being an island dwellers paradise, then you may want to head to the beautiful beaches found across Cornwall and Devon where you’ll find plenty of places to relax in the sun or even go surfing - not something generally associated with the English - but it’s worth a visit to the coastal town of Bude if you’re into your waves. For something a little more pristine, then hidden away on the smaller island of the Isle of Wight, which is less than hour away when crossing from the mainland, is the incredible beach at Osbourne House, which as well as being home to a small but perfectly formed white sand beach - was once the private beach of Queen Victoria.

Further north in the highlands of Scotland, you can travel with your rental car down beautiful country lanes, stopping as you do at quaint Scottish pubs to sample the local foods, and if you’re not driving onwards, the local ales and Whiskeys that Scotland is well known for. You may also visit the atmospheric and somewhat mysterious Loch Ness - which is reputedly home to the Loch Ness Monster. That aside, Inverness and Loch Ness is a beautiful slice of British countryside, with hilly landscapes and inspiring 360 degree views across vast landscapes.

In short the UK has a little bit of everything for absolutely everyone and we can help you explore it more fully by giving you access to hundreds of car rentals across the kingdom! Remember, you can pick up your rental at any one of the hundreds of airports across the UK, but also at transport hubs like London’s Kings Cross Rail station and thousands of other locations. You just need to say decide what you want and we can do the rest. Our service is completely online and we work with more than 500 suppliers, both big and small such as Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Sixt, Budget and Thrifty Car Rental to ensure that we can always help our customers get the best deals available.
